Sr. girls Eckville Aces fall to H.J. Cody Lakers

The Aces lost the exhibition game 60-30 at home on Feb. 21.

The Eckville Aces senior girls basketball team went head to head with the H.J. Cody senior girls Lakers on Feb. 21.

The exhibition game, held at Eckville Jr/Sr High School, resulted in a 60-30 loss for the Aces.

The Aces came out to a slow start scoring only seven points in the first quarter, but the girls kept fighting and were down 29-12 at the half.

Only three baskets were made by the Aces in the third quarter leaving them with a 24 point deficit going into the final quarter.

The senior girls Aces continued their battle through the final quarter bringing the final score to 60-30 for the Lakers at the final buzzer.

Annika McAlpine was the Aces top scorer of the game with 12 points, while Madison Smith trailed a close second with seven points.

The senior girls Aces return to their playoff journey on Feb. 25 when they hit the road to fight for the league’s top spot.
