The Eckville Aces girls volleyball team came in second at the team’s home tournament over the weekend.

The Aces hosted four other teams from around Central Alberta for a two-day tournament, Oct. 19-20.

Along with Eckville, teams came from Bentley, David Thompson High School, Rimbey and Caroline to try for first place.

The Aces had a strong team and lost one game during the round robin to Rimbey.

With one lost during regular play, the Aces took second and went on to the championship game for a rematch against Rimbey.

After another close game the Eckville Aces settled in for a silver medal at the home tournament.

The Aces will look to rebound after the home tournament on Oct. 24 when the team plays Alix at home. The game is expected to start at 6 p.m.
