Thirteen wrestlers from Eckville’s Crank Wrestling attended a tournament at the University of Alberta and performed very well.
Eleven of the wrestlers finished on the podium, with three earning a gold medal, and two wrestlers finished just off the podium in fourth place.
Wrestling Coach Adam Laporte said he is proud of the team and how they all performed.
“Well nothing but pride for these fine young wrestlers! Everyone went out and preformed top notch,” Laporte said in an email.
He continued on to say everyone put in a great effort at the tournament and showed amazing sportsmanship.
He hopes to see the rest of the season continue on in a similar manner.
“… What an amazing way to start off the season,” said Laporte.
