The Eckville Atom 1 Eagles are moving on to zone finals after a 9-5 win on Feb. 14.

The Millet Storm came out strong in the first period, but the Eagles kept the Storm at bay 3-2 going into the first intermission.

The Atom Eagles went into the middle frame of the game with more fight and pulled ahead 6-3.

The third period was a good battle between the Eagles and Millet, bit the Eagles came out with a 9-5 victory.

“The kids and coaches are excited to move on to the next and final round of provincial playdowns,” said Tiphany Eliuk, Atom 1 manager, in an email.

The final round, zone finals, is against Rimbey.

The Eagles will take to the road on Feb. 21 for a 6:30 p.m. puck drop and will return to home ice on March 2 at 2 p.m.

“We are excited to have made it this far and hop to make it to Provincials in Picture Butte,” added Eliuk.

Provincials will be held from March 14-17.
