Jeff Ible says if elected he will advocate for a good education system, a strong health care system and affordable child care for every family in Alberta.

The Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre candidate says he chose to run with the NDP because it is fighting for everyday working Albertans, which is a value he shares with the party.

“I’ve been involved with politics for a long time as a volunteer, and I’ve been involved with my union as an advocate and a steward for United Food and Commercial Workers Local 401, but this is the first time I’ve had the honour of putting my name on the ballot to fight to protect the things that matter to Alberta families,” said Ible in an email.

Ible says if he is elected he will advocate in the Legislature for “good schools and good teachers for our kids, a strong health care system for our loved ones, and ensuring things like $25 per day child care are available to every family in Alberta.”

He says the campaign will fight for everyday working families and will protect health care by investing to shorten wait times, support seniors by building more long-term care beds and cutting costs of medication, making life more affordable for families by ensuring Alberta has access to $25 a day child care, and making sure our kids have good schools and good teachers.

“Our platform gets Albertans back to work, diversifies the economy, and balances the budget without hurting people – it’s a job about jobs and families,” said Ible of the NDP.

He explained the NDP’s “Made-In-Alberta energy upgrading plan includes $75 billion in private sector investment and 70,000 jobs turning our energy into products the world needs.”

Ible added he is proud of what the NDP has done since election with the way they cleaned up the government and improved the way all their ridings are represented.

“We got rid of things like free golf membership for government CEOs and slashed conservative travel and hospital budgets from their peak of $27.6 million in 2013 to just $3.8 million,” Ible said, adding he thinks Albertans want to vote for a premier who will fight for what matters to everyday families.

“I’m running on Rachel’s [Notley] team because I want to see a better Alberta – good health care, good schools, pipelines, jobs and an economy that works for everyone,” added Ible.
