FCSS participants take part in a street festival that kicked off the Rock ‘n Rimbey weekend

Rimbey rolled out the red carpet on Friday night as Rock ‘n Rimbey Lions club members shut down main street and prepare to have some fun.

The whole town seemed to take on a festive air as businesses opened their doors for late night shopping and vendors set up their wares.

Lions club member and organizer Terry Von Hollen said 47 cars took part in the car/bike cruise to Bentley, Sylvan, and Eckville and back to Rimbey.

“It was excellent,” he said.

The festival also attracted a good crowd and the weather co-operated to make it a fun time for all.

“It (the festival) went very well for a first time event,” said Von Hollen. “We could have had more vendors but it got high ratings, overall.”

Beer gardens with live entertainment kept the action happening at the Rimbey Co-op mall.
