The Central Alberta Quidditch Club was out in Sylvan Lake last weekend to teach everyone a little about the game.

Jill Staniec, the head coach for the Central Alberta Cenaurs and president of the club, said there was a lot of people out asking questions and participating.

The event went great, and the group even tried their hand at playing the game in the lake, which helped cool everyone off after a hot day in the sun.

“We had tonnes of support from the Town of Sylvan Lake, the Beach Ambassadors and the community at large,” said Staniec.

The event was to gain interest in the club, Staniec would love to see a quidditch league started for Central Alberta, and as a part of particpACTION 150.

This event, and a few others around the area, was funded through a grant from the federal government for participACTION.

“I think this may have to become an annual event!”
