Eckville Jr. Sr. High School held their annual Celebration of Excellence on Sept. 22, giving out awards and scholarships to high performing students.
Many of the awards are sponsored by businesses and organizations in the community with one sponsored by the family of former student, Jennifer Gomes - Kananen who passed away in 2014 during an epileptic episode.
The list of the top academic ACES awards is as follows:

Each student with top grades in their class received $100. For top grades in grade seven, the award was given to Claire Obst. Emily Moos received the award for the grade eight class. In the grade nine class, Madison Smith was given the award. For the grade ten class, Rachelle Phillips took home the award. Casey Belway received the award for grade ten. Robin Phillips won the award for the grade 12 class.
On the principal’s list were: Madison Smith, Annika McAlpine, Emily Moos, Rachelle Phillips, Claire Obst, Courney Cowan and Teryn Smith. Each award winner received $100.
Students who received honours on their Diploma exams were: Jenna Ackerman for social studies, Delaini Gillett for math, Virnise Castro for biology, Noah Law for chemistry, math and physics, and Austin Kalev for biology.
