There were many events to take part in on Aug. 18, during the Jazz on the Lake festival.
Event Coordinator Eric Allison spoe about Dizzy Gillespe and his centennial year in a workshop panel early in the day followed by a brass clinic with musician Jon Faddis.
The Hot Dixie Jazz Band serenaded shoppers at the Farmer’s Market in the afternoon.
The day ended with a concert by Jon Faddis, who once again honoured Gillespe by playing arrangements of his songs.
Faddis was joined on stage by Allison, who played his saxaphone for one song, and his song Tyler Faddis.
Jazz on the Lake continues today with live music at Lion’s Park from 1-4 p.m. and a concert by Cheryl Fisher this evening at 8 p.m.at the Alliance Church.
