Eckville will once again be home to lively music at the upcoming Eckville Dance and Jamboree.

This year’s jamboree marks the 17th year the event has taken place in Eckville.

From Aug. 24-26, the event will bring together some of the best amateur musicians from around Eckville. Performances over the weekend of lively entertainment will be held at the Eckville Community Centre where dancers will gather to appreciate the music.

The country music spectacle has become a mainstay for the community of Eckville.

In years past the event has brought in as many as 800 guests, with last year’s event bringing in around 400 guests over the course of the weekend.

Musicians from across Central Alberta come to Eckville to entertain and delight locals and guests with some good ol’ country music.

The format for the weekend-long event isn’t expected to be different from years passed. The organizers feel they have a good handle on the planning and organizing.

The Legion will be providing supper for Friday and Saturday. Supper is an extra cost to the weekend tickets.

The fun begins at 10 a.m. on Fri., Aug. 23 with music and dancing.

Tickets are currently available and cost $20 for the entire weekend. Those interested can also purchase tickets for individual days.
