Shadow Riders 4-H Club, based out of Benalto, has started off their season with a record number of 43 members. So far the ambitious bunch has started their annual Sunday riding lesson and monthly meetings. In addition, Shadow Riders had a bottle drive in Eckville and plan to hold one in Sylvan Lake. On Nov. 17-18 the club held a fall camp, full of learning, riding and making memories.

Before camp, all members were asked to bring at least one item, whether it be toiletries, socks or toothbrushes to be donated to Safe Harbour in Red Deer - a shelter that provides support for those who do not have the means to support themselves. Not only did the club collect items to donate, but all members also sewed bags to put the items into. In total, Shadow Riders made 26 female bags and 22 male bags to donate to Safe Harbour.

Since 4-H is largely based on service before self, the club is constantly finding ways to help those in their community. The clubs next project is their annual Christmas Hampers. Each member is tasked to donate two specific items to be added to one of the seven hampers- which will be delivered to families in need during the holiday season.
