Christmas Casino Night fundraiser for Eckville playground

The Eckville Fundraising Society is hosting a Christmas Casino Night on Dec. 1 to raise money for a new playgorund for the Eckville Elementary School.

The Eckville Fundraising Society is hosting a Christmas Casino Night on Dec. 1 at the Eckville Community Centre.

The event is a fundraiser for a new playground at the Eckville Elementary School.

The night will feature supper, casino games, a silent auction, a 50/50, a raffle and music.

The Eckville Fundraising Society is selling after 8 p.m. tickets which includes $100,000 worth of casino fun money and two drink tickets.

The after 8 p.m. tickets are $40 and can be purchased until Nov. 30.

There will be a driver take home available.

“The town bus is rented and it will be providing rides home,” said Tiphany Eliuk, president of the Eckville Fundraising Society, who added the event is for peopled aged 18 and older.

Eliuk explained the message the society is trying to get out is even though the playground is for the elementary school it is actually for the community.

“So many people in our community use our playground,” continued Eliuk, “it’s like if you come to Eckville at all chances are your child is going to use that playground or your grandkids.”
