The Eckville Senior Eagles were eager for a rematch against the Devon Barons, Nov. 10, after a devastating loss the week prior.

Despite a scoreless first period, the Eagles were unable to keep the visiting Barons at bay for long.

The Barons came out onto the ice hot after the first intermissions, and mere minutes after the period started the Barons barrelled past the Eagles to score.

The Barons scored twice on the Eagles in the second period before the Eagles found their opening.

On the power play Jagger Bowles fired the puck past the Barons goaltender wit the assistance of Josh Smith and Kale Lapointe.

With one period left to play the Eagles were behind 2-1.

Once again, the Barons scored first in the third period, though the Eagles were able to stave off the offence for more than half of the period.

Josh Smith brought one home for the Eagles with roughly four minutes remaining in the period. Smith had the assistance of teammates Jason Lundmark and Chance Abbott.

The Eagles lost 3-2 against the Devon Barons.

Travis Yonkman was in goal for the home team, Nov. 11. He was able to save 35 out of 38 shots on net.

Though the score may not reflect it, the Eagles actually out shot the Barons, making a total of 48 attempts on net.

The Nov. 10 game was a heated affair, with both sides of the ice racking up the penalties.

Almost all of the penalties warned during the game resulted from the second and third period of the game. Two of the penalties against the Eagles were for game misconduct.

Over the last two periods the Senior Eagles were issued a total of 13 penalties.

With two losses, both to the Devon Barons, the Eagles have fallen in the rankings down to number four, behind Westlock, Morinville and Red Deer.

The Eagles will next play at home on Nov. 17 against the last place Whitecourt Wild. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the Eckville Arena.
