June 9, 1917 - December 13, 2011
Julia Alvina Kinna passed away on December 13, 2011 at the age of 94. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Marilyn (Arvon), Judy (Robert), Kevin (Teresa) and Inge; grandchildren, Jillane (Alan), Kathryn (Lester), Casey (Charlene), Steven, Carolyn (Andre), Jason (Jackie), Celene, Alexandra and Abigail; great-grandchildren, Jaycee and Clara; siblings, Joseph, Olga, Gladys, Inga and Myrtle.
Julia was predeceased by her husband Robert; son, Ronald;
brothers, Edwin, Chester, Arthur and Harry; sisters, Mabel,
Selma, Alice, Violet and Helen. Cremation has already taken
place. A memorial service will be held in the spring 2012.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly wishes donations be made
to the charity of one’s choice.

Henry "Hank"
Mr. Henry "Hank" Klassen of the Gilby District passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the age of 72 years.
Hank will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 51 years, Ellen; his son, Randy Klassen (Marcia Wyatt) of Gilby; and three daughters, Vicki (Jim) Ramsay of Eckville; Pam (Mel) Solberg of Bentley; and Angie (Mike) Schickerowski of Calgary; as well as ten grandchildren, and one great grandson. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by three brothers, John Klassen of Alexis Creek, B.C.; Dave (Fliss) Klassen of Kamloops, B.C.; and Abe (Dallas) Klassen also of Kamloops, B.C.; four sisters, Margaret Wedel of Vernon, B.C.; Louise Klassen also of Vernon, B.C.; Mary (Albert) Frick of Kimberley, B.C.; and Agnes Glover of Barry's Bay, Ontario; in addition to two sisters-in-law, Ricki Klassen of Surrey, B.C.; and Lea Klassen of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Hank was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Peter, Jake, and George; his sister, Ann Froese; his nephew, Arthur; four brothers-in-law, Henry, Jonathan, Hugo and Henry; and one sister-in-law, June.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Hank's Life was held at the Gilby Community Hall, Gilby on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. Interment of Cremated Remains followed at a later time in the Gilby Cemetery, Gilby. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Hank's Memory may be made directly to the charity of one's choice. DERYL
Mr. Deryl Steel of Red Deer and Craig Alberta, passed away Oct 16, 2011 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital after a long fight with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Helen; his son Wesley (Bev) Steel; daughter Leona (Ted) Edwards; as well as 7 grandchildren, Garett, Cody, Levi, Moriah Steel, & Dustin, Riley, Chelsey Edwards as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father & mother Wesley & Belle Steel, brothers Art & John, and sisters, Madeline, Ruth, Elsie, Urma, and Millie. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday Oct 24, 2011 at Metcalf Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at the Innisfail Cemetery. If friends so desire donations can be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Ave. Red Deer, AB. T4R 3S6. LIGHTBOWN,
Bud (Robert)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bud (Robert) Lightbown.
Bud passed away peacefully on October 2, 2011, at the Eckville Manor House, at the age of 85. Bud was born January 14, 1926, and was raised in the Diamond Valley District.
Bud owned and operated a general trucking business for many years until 1974, and Lightbown Custom Fencing until retiring in 1990. He was the caretaker at the Eckville Arena through the winter months for many years. Bud was very active in sports, especially in ball, and The Pony Club. Bud was instrumental in starting the Eckville Indoor Rodeo, and the Pony Chariot and Chuckwagon Association.
He will be lovingly remembered, and missed by Janet, his wife of 59½ years, two daughters, Karen (Jim) Tubbs of Eckville, Myrna (Pete) McLellan of Rocky Mtn. House, three sons, Garry (Donna) of Sylvan Lake, Murray (Susan) of Eckville, Dean (Corey) of Red Deer, 13 Grandchildren, and 18 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Darl Klatt, and one brother, David (Pat), three sister in laws, Kit Lightbown, Ruby Brown and Pat Setters. Bud is predeceased by his parents, Max & Viola Lightbown, his grandson, Jamie Tubbs, brother Ed, and sister Lillian Anderson.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 6, at 11:00 am at the Eckville Community Center.

HANSEN,
Jack
Mr. Jack Hansen of the Rimbey, Eckville, and Bentley areas passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the age of 60 years, after fighting a 23-year battle with cancer.
Jack immigrated from Denmark in 1954, and settled on a farm in the Poplar Ridge area near Red Deer. Jack and his brother, Martin farmed together until Jack married Connie in 1976. Jack and Connie continued to farm in the Benjamin area until present. Jack's greatest treasures were his children and grandchildren; many fun times with lots of laughter. Jack's motto was "every day is a holiday".
Jack will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Connie; his son, Warren (Tricia) Hansen of Calgary and their children, Rylan and Chase; and three daughters, Christine (Nick) Beermann of Rimbey; Jackie-Anne (Gordie) Heck of Fairview and their children, Paulina, Olivia, and Ryker; and Lisa (Ryan) Heck of Grande Prairie. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by two brothers, Soren (Rose) Hansen of Red Deer; and Martin Hansen of Bentley; and one sister, Joanne (Trish) Hansen of Toronto; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, and many other close relatives. Jack was predeceased by his parents.
A Public Funeral Service in Celebration of Jack's Life was held at the Rimbey Church of the Nazarene, Rimbey on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Sandra Franklin-Law officiating. Interment followed in the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey at 2:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations in Jack's Memory may be made directly to the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre ~ Palliative Care, Box 440, Rimbey, Alberta; or to the Cross Cancer Institute ~ Units 30 and 31, c/o Alberta Cancer Foundation, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 1Z2.
